DIY Face Primer: cheap and effective!

Hi cupcakes!

I told you on my last post that I was going to show you a beauty DIY, and it's going to be...*drum roll*... a face primer!

I've never used primer before, I'm not an expert on face makeup. I know the basics. But I just saw what a primer can do and I'm going to start using it. I use foundation and concealer, so why not preparing my face for these products?

I heard of primer a while ago, but I didn't know for what it was used for. I can now tell that a primer is a kind of cream (sheer or tinted) you put on your skin to prepare it for any beauty products you'll use on your face and also your makeup stays longer. It also tightens your pores and you can make it suitable for your type of skin, depending on the type of products you use.

Lets get started:

.3 tablespoons of moisturizer or face lotion (if you have oily skin like me, just use an oil-free product)

.3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel (sheer, with no color)

.1,5 tablespoon of foundation or concealer that matches your skin tone (optional)

.A few drops of sunscreen (optional)

.Empty sterilized bottle

1* Add the moisturizer, aloe vera gel, foundation and sunscreen. Mix it really well. Store in the bottle.

And yeah, it that quick and easy! Hope you'll try it!

Tinha-vos dito no meu último post que ia mostrar-vos um DIY de beleza, e vai ser...*rufar dos tambores*... um primer para a maquilhagem!

Nunca usei um primer antes, não sou uma sábia no que toca a maquilhagem. Sei o básico. Mas agora já vi o que um primer faz e vou começar a usar. Uso base e corrector, por isso porque não preparar a minha cara para esses produtos?

Já tinha ouvido falar dos primer há um tempo atrás, mas não sabia para que era usado. Agora como já sei, posso dizer-vos que um primer é uma espécia de creme (transparente ou pigmentado) que se aplica na pele para a preparar para qualquer produto que irão pôr, e faz ta,bém com que a maquilhagem dure mais. Também fecha os poros e podem fazê-lo adequado para qualquer tipo de pele, dependendo dos tipo de produtos que vão usar.

 

Vamos lá então:

.3 colheres de sopa de creme hidratante ou loção facial (se têm pele oleosa como eu, basta usarem algo específico para retirar a oleosidade da pele)

.3 colheres de sopa de gel de aloé vera (do transparente)

.1 colher e meia de sopa de base ou corrector que seja do vosso tom de pele (opcional)

.Algumas gotas de protector solar (opcional)

.Garrafa esterilizada

 

1* Juntar o hidratante ou loção, gel, base ou corrector e protector solar. Misturar todos os ingredientes usados muito bem. Reservar na garrafa.

 

E sim, é assim tão rápido e fácil! Espero que experimentem!

Flawless looking skin routine! What a difference!

 

 

Hi ladies!

 

Ok this girl is my new idol, hands down. Her name is Cassandra Bankson and she's a model. But she's a little different of the other models: she has a major acne problem.
When I saw this video I was so sad for her, but she's really proud of herself, and I am too, it's really tough to show how you really look in front of millions of people. You go girl!

 

But OMG did you see how her skin looks afterwards? She looks even prettier, and no spot at sight!

Follow her tutorial so you can get flawless looking skin like her. This takes quite a long time, but in her case it's worth it. She uses anti-shine because of her oily skin, primer, foundation (2 different types), concealer, powder (2 different ones), setting powder and also a spray. I think the whole thing is really expensive, but she looks great!

Olá joaninhas!

 

Esta rapariga é o meu novo ídolo, sem dúvida. Chama-se Cassandra Bankson e é modelo. Mas ela é um pouco diferente das outras modelos: ela tem um grande problema de acne.

Quando vi este vídeo fiquei um bocado triste por ela, mas ela tem muito orgulho em si, e eu também, é muito difícil mostrar como é que nós somos realmente em frente a milhões de pessoas. Força Cassy!

 

Mas a sério, já viram como é que a pele dela fica depois? Ela fica ainda mais bonita, e não se vê uma única borbulha!

Sigam o tutorial dela se querem ficar com uma pele perfeita como ela aparenta. Demora é muito tempo a fazer esta rotina, mas no caso dela vale mesmo a pena. Ela usa um creme anti-brilho para a pele oleosa, primer, base (2 tipos diferentes), corrector, pó facial (2 tipos diferentes), pó compacto e ainda um spray fixante. Acho que tudo fica muito caro, mas ela fica óptima!

DIY Nail Polish: definitely going to try this!

 

 

Hi ladies!

 

This is the coolest idea ever, it's easy and cheap. All you need is sheer nail polish, useless eyeshadow (the kind you don't use ever) and you're good to go!

 

I's SO simple! You can make only a little bit or you can just create your homemade nail polish.

 

If you want to make just enough for one time, this is what you need:

.1 small bowl

.1 tablespoon of powder eyeshadow (you can also crape your solid eyeshadow with a kitchen knife)

. 25 to 30 drops of sheer nail polish

 

1* Pour the eyeshadow to the bowl. Add the drops and then mix it all up with a coffee stick or a Q-tip. You're all ready to paint your nails!

 

 

If you want to make a new nail polish from scratch, here's what you have to do:

.1 bottle of sheer nail polish

.1 eyeshadow

 

1* Pour a little bit of eyeshadow into the nail polish. Shake for 30 seconds. If you feel that the eyeshadow you put is not enough, add a little more and shake for another 30 seconds. Have fun with your new color!

 

I'm going to try this, you can do any color you want!

Esta é a melhor ideia de sempre, é facil e barato. Só precisam de verniz transparente e sombra de olhos que já não usam ou assim e podem começar!

 

É TÃO simples! Podem fazer o suficiente para apenas uma utilização ou podem criar um verniz vosso feito em casa.

 

Se querem apenas fazer o suficiente para uma vez, isto é o que têm de fazer:

.1 tigela pequena

.1 colher de sopa de sombra em pó (ou também podem raspar a sombra sólida com uma faca de cozinha)

.25 a 30 gotas de verniz transparente

 

1* Deitar a sombra na tigela. Adicionar as gotas e mexer tudo com um stick para mexer o café ou com um cotonete.

 

 

Se querem fazer um novo verniz de raíz, é disto que precisam:

.1 frasco de verniz transparente

.1 sombra para os olhos

 

1* Deitar um pouco de sombra dos olhos no verniz. Abanar durante 30 segundos. Se acharem que a sombra que puseram não é suficiente, adicionem um pouco mais durante mais 30 segundos. E agora divirtam-se com a vossa nova cor!

 

Vou experimentar isto, podem fazer a cor que quiserem!

Will I ever find the perfect "no poo" shampoo?

Hey guys!

Well I don't know what to do! I'm trying to go "no poo" but it's proving to be a challenge.

I like the vinegar conditioner, I'm going to stick with it, but I can't find a good shampoo! I tried with an egg and I also tried baking soda, but it's so weird, it doesn't have any consistency and just looks like I'm pouring water into my hair. I'm not going to stick with any of those.

I think I'm going to do a mixture of baking soda, cucumber and lemon shampoo. I saw this HERE. It's a couple who tried a few organic recipes and they say that the mix is the best. I think it's going to have a thicker consistency, so I'll have a better feeling if my hair is clean or not. The cucumber is good for dry hair, but it's also a conditioning agent, so I'm going to use just a little bit.

 

MIX RECIPE (modify by me):

.1 tablespoon of baking soda

.1 lemon

.1/2 cucumber

.2 cups of water

 

1* Mix it all together in a blender. Voilà!  This is what I'm going to try, if I need to make some twists I'll let you know!

 

Hope this time everything works out just fine, I mean, third time's the charm right? ;)

Olá pessoal!

Já não sei bem o que fazer! Estou a tentar aderir ao movimento "sem champô" mas está a ser difícil.

Gosto do amaciador de vinagre, sem dúvida que vou continuar, mas não consigo encontrar um bom champô! Já tentei com o ovo e com o bicarbonato de sódio, mas é muito estranho, não tem consistência nenhuma, parece que só estou a deitar água para o cabelo. Não vou continuar com nenhum destes.

 

Acho que vou tentar fazer um champô com uma mistura de bicarbonato de sódio, pepino e limão. Vi AQUI. É um casal que já experimentou algumas receitas orgânicas e dizem que a mistura de tudo é o melhor. Acho que vai ficar com uma melhor consistência pelo que terei uma melhor percepção de ter o cabelo lavado ou não. O pepino é bom para cabelos secos, mas também actua como condicionador, é por isso que vou usar só um bocadinho.

 

RECEITA DA MISTURA (modificada por mim):

.1 colher de sopa de bicarbonato de sódio

.1 limão

.1/2 pepino

.2 copos de água

 

1* Misturar tudo numa liquidificadora e voilà! Vou experimentar, depois se for preciso fazer alguma alteração eu aviso-vos!

 

Espero que desta vez tudo corra bem, sempre ouvi dizer que à terceira é de vez, certo? ;)

Dye your hair with henna: who's tried it? :)

I'm only a few minutes away of trying the baking soda shampoo with vinegar (yep, I found it!) and I'm really excited, hope everything works just fine!

 

I'm goint to continue to explore another alternative products. If they're good, cheap and effective I'll publish them so, perhaps, you want to try them!

 

I found three types of dying your hair in an organic way: henna, indigo and senna.

I only heard about henna. Indigo and senna are still a little strange for me, I only know indigo can color your hair blue-black and senna can dye your hair blonde. I'm only focusing on henna, since I already try some shampoos with it.

Henna is a plant that can be made into powder. Once you have the powder you can color your hair! I dyed my hair only once with a Schwarzkopf cashew dye, but my hair is dark brown so the red color didn't stand out as much as I wanted, I only get shades of red when my hair gets highlighted by the sun or something. I think henna would work out for me, because I can get a lighter or darker shade, depending on the time I let it on my hair.

 

I found the perfect recipe the greatest website about henna ever HERE, it has everything you need to know about dying your hair with henna!

ATTENTION: If you just want to dye your hair with henna once, forget it. Like this pretty girl says, it's a commitment because henna really gets into the shaft of the hair.

 

The idea of having something permanent on my hair scares me a lot, so I'll think about it.

Olá!

 

Estou apenas a alguns minutos de experimentar o champô de bicarbonato de sódio com o vinagre (sim, encontrei-o!) e estou muito ansiosa, espero que corra tudo bem!

 

Vou continuar a pesquisar produtos alternativos. Se forem bons, baratos e eficazes vou publicá-los para, quiçá, quererem experimentar!

 

Encontrei três tipos de tintas orgânicas: henna, índigo e cassia obovata.

Ainda só conhecia a henna. Indigo e cassia obovata ainda é algo estranho para mim, só sei que o índigo dá uma cor preta-azulada e a cassia dá uma cor meio loura. Vou só falar da henna pois já experimentei em alguns champôs.

Henna é uma planta que pode ser transformada em pó. A partir daí já podem pintar o vosso cabelo! Só pintei o meu cabelo uma vez com a tinta cajú da Schwarzkopf, mas o meu cabelo é castanho mesmo escuro pelo que a cor não se destacou tanto como queria, só ao Sol é que se notava que tinha tons de vermelho. Acho que a henna era capaz de resultar para mim porque posso conseguir um tom mais claro ou escuro dependendo do tempo que deixo a tinta no cabelo.

 

Encontrei a receita perfeita e o melhor website sobre henna AQUI, tem tudo o que precisam de saber sobre pintarem o cabelo com henna!

NOTA: Se só quiserem experimentar pintar uma vez podem esquecer a henna. Como esta menina diz, é um compromisso visto que a henna se entranha mesmo no couro cabeludo.

 

A ideia de ter algo permanente no meu cabelo assusta-me muito mas ainda vou pensar.
